Top-quality construction, superior materials, design innovation … But, in addition, when you supply an E&M product to your client, you also get access to years of development knowledge and experience. We have earnt a reputation for trouble-shooting.

This is a screen installed in Berlin, where the client has experience of many different brands of screen. A recent acquisition to the Works is the E&M IBS, to help cope with the 86Ml/d flows. The client is happy with the new addition … it has a comparative high-capacity, despite being dwarfed by the others in the picture.

E&M JASH now offers the newly developed “MM2MM” Inclined multi-raking bar screens technology which remains majorly consistent for screens with spacing as low as 2 mm to spacing as high as 100 mm. This technology enables subsequent conversion of a screen with wide spacing to a screen with low spacing depending upon requirement with minimum changeover of parts.

A “MM2MM” screen of 2 mm spacing was tested at the National Screen Evaluation Facility, Chester Le Street, UK, by Thompson RPM to verify the effectiveness and capture ratio of this screen. The average screenings capture ratio for this screen during testing was observed to be 73%, which is higher than many perforated screens. (Thompson RPM report reference – TPRM-REP279).

Hence a 2 or 3 mm spacing MM2MM multi-raking screen can be used for fine screening application prior to 1 or 2 mm perforated screen / band screen used in MBR application. Unlike a perforated screen this screen needs no wash water or cleaning brushes, is sturdier in operation and helps reduce the head loss on subsequent travelling band screen due to its high capture ratio.

The prestigious Changi Water Reclamation Plant (CWRP) of PUB, Singapore replaced in year 2014, 2 nos Andritz screens having 5 mm spacing with “MM2MM” screens. These 2 screens were installed by UES, Singapore and each MM2MM screen of 5 mm spacing handles 400,000 cubic meter per day of peak flow. Installation of these screens has increased the effectiveness of the subsequent 2 mm perforated band screen used for the MBR process. Successful operation of the 2 screens has prompted CWRP to go for replacement of 2 more Andritz screen with MM2MM screen in year 2015.
