Screens of moving filters, rotating meshes, and travelling perforated plates have long been in existence. But all suffered from a host of similar problems: blockages and residue build-up, despite attempts at cleaning. We remedied the problem in the design office and launched our product.
A perforated screen to be installed in Europe. The unit has perforations of 4 mm and is manufactured entirely in stainless steels. In development stages, a concerted effort was made to address the causes of failure of competitor products and our screen has key elements of design that distinguish it from those of rivals. Take, for example, the stepped grid plates. Exploration and innovation was followed by test-&-trial, until the inherent efficiency of this profile was proven. Trap .. transport …and eject.
The “Perscalator” screen was tested at National Screen Evaluation Facility Chester Le Street STW Northumbrian Water by Thompson RPM to verify the capture ratio of this screen. The average screening capture ratio for this screen during testing was observed to be “84%”, which is at par with the best performing perforated screens. (Thompson RPM report reference – TPRM-REP286).
